News: Finnish meat processor HKScan will make its operations more efficient in Denmark and Sweden, as part of its extensive group development programme. The firm will centralise slicing of cold cuts and manufacturing of cold-smoked products in Sweden to its plant in the Halmstad. The firm has also closed its cold cut production plant in Bjaeverskov, Denmark, in late September 2012. Due to falling pork production in Sweden, HKScan will also discontinue the night shift of pork cutting at its plant in Kristianstad. The above measures will cut another 70 jobs from the firm's operations in Sweden.
