Healthcare System Improves Despite Widespread Poverty

News: Bangladesh has seen significant improvement in its healthcare system despite the presence of widespread poverty and low healthcare investment, reports the Guardian, citing a study released in the Lancet. The improvement is attributed to the empowerment of women and increased penetration of non-governmental organisations in the country. The study revealed that there was considerable improvement in the infant mortality rate, that life expectancy rate has risen to 68.3 years.
