Health Ministry Warns About Possible Health Risks Of E-Cigarettes

News: On November 28, the Dutch health ministry issued a warning about the possible risks of e-cigarettes, signalling plans to draft regulations regarding labelling of e-cigarettes instead of waiting for the EU to act. The move followed the National Institute for Public Health, the Dutch government's leading health advisory body, announcing that e-cigarettes are addictive and contain dangerous chemicals, including nicotine. The institute was also concerned about the lack of evidence for possible effects of e-cigarettes, recommending against its use by pregnant women and in the vicinity of children.
