Health Ministry To Implement New Rapid TB Test

News: On March 24 the Brazilian health ministry announced that it will implement a new strategy for the rapid testing and diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB) in public healthcare institutions across the country, reports Brazil Pharma News. The ministry will provide a rapid diagnostic test, Gene Xpert, which will be capable of detecting the presence of the Cock's bacillus responsible for causing the disease in just two hours. The rapid test will also identify whether the person has resistance to the antibiotic rifampicin, used for the treatment of TB.
