Harbour IT To Create Pure Cloud

News: Australia-based Harbour IT plans to use US-based Pure Storage's technology to create an all-flash storage cloud offering called Pure Cloud, reports ZDNet. Speaking at the launch of Pure Storage in Sydney, Charles Tym, the company's co-founder, said flash storage is an innovative technology for enterprises. Harbour IT admitted its storage needs have been reduced from seven terabytes to 700Gb due to Pure Storage's software implemented inline de-duplication and compression technology. The company, which has gone from 30-rack units of storage to eight, also said it expects all its customers to use flash storage within 12 months.
