Governments To Sign Agreement To Link Through Chabahar Port

News: The governments of Iran, Afghanistan and India will be signing a cooperation agreement in the near future, according to a report by IRNA on March 24, citing Afghan foreign ministry spokesperson Shakib Mostaghni. The agreement will allow Afghanistan and India to connect via the Chabahar port in Iran. Under the agreement, India will have direct access to Central Asia and will be able to import minerals from Afghanistan, said Indian External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid. In addition, India intends to develop a direct shipping route to the Chabahar port to decrease freight prices and delivery time, according to Indian Ambassador to Tehran D.P. Srivastava (Farsnews).
