Governments Keen On French Franchise For Two Light Rail Projects

News: The governments of France and Israel are planning to appoint French companies for the construction of two additional light rail lines in Tel Aviv, Israel. The construction of the Green Line from Herzliya to Holon and the Purple Line from Kiryat Ono to Tel Aviv will cost ILS17bn (US$4.82bn) and ILS13bn (US$3.69bn) respectively. The governments are keen to appoint a French franchise, as the French have shown interest in the project and have stated to deliver the Green Line project before the Red Line, which is currently being built by the NTA Metropolitan Mass Transit System.
