Government To Sell Majority Stake In MTS Belarus

News: Blelarus' deputy prime minister, Anatoli Kalinin, announced that the government would stick to its plan to sell its majority stake in MTS Belarus for US$1bn, in spite of apparent disinterest from potential buyers. The government will reportedly make a presentation on November 2 to launch the state's proposed sale of its 51% stake in the operator. The aim of the presentation is to identify potential buyers for the state's equity, according to Ella Chazova, a spokesperson for the ministry of communications and information technologies. However, the auction date has not been finalised yet.
