Government Breaks Ground On Nuclear Project And Plans Other Power Projects

News: On November 26 2013, the Government of Pakistan broke ground on the Karachi Coastal Power Project (K-2 and K-3). The 2,200MW civil nuclear power project in Karachi, to be built with the help of Chinese companies, is expected to be completed in 72 months. Six nuclear project sites have also been identified in the country. The Pakistani government is also planning to finance and construct the Diamer-Bhasha and Dasu dams simultaneously, along with the Bunji dam. Additionally, Chinese firms have shown interest in setting up 10 coal-fired 660MW power projects in Baluchistan's Gaddani power park.
