GNS Boosts Oefins Capacity At Monomer Petrochemical Plant

News: Russia-based Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat has ramped up olefins capacity at its Monomer petrochemical plant in Bashkortostan in the Urals region of Russia by launching a new pyrolisis furnace at the plant, reports Platts. The company declined to disclose the exact capacity of the new line, but expects the ethylene output to rise to 310,000 metric tonnes (mt) in 2014. The new production line has greater efficiency (91-92%) than the existing one (73%) and has the capacity to operate two types of feedstocks, processing up to 34 mt per hour (mt/hour) of liquefied petroleum gas or up to 36 mt/hour of naphtha.
