General Electric Awarded Three Algerian Energy Contracts

News: US conglomerate General Electric has been awarded three contracts valued at US$2.7bn from Societe Algeriennne de Production d'Electricite , reports Power Technology. General Electric will subsequently supply a total of 26 heavy-duty gas turbines, 12 steam turbines and 38 generators for nine power plants in northern Algeria. The company is also intending to establish a long-term joint venture with Algerian energy utility Sonelgaz .
