Firm Seeks Fresh Bidders For Thermal Power Project


News: Power Company of Karnataka (PCKL) will soon float fresh request for qualification (RFQ) for the INR75bn (US$1.24bn) Gulbarga coal-based thermal power project in India. The1,320MW project has been proposed under the Case-2 bidding framework. PCKL will float fresh RFQ bids as the central government allocated coal blocks for the project, according to PCKL Chairman and Managing Director, G Kumar Naik (Business Standard). PCKL is yet to take decision on allowing the existing bidders to remain in the competition or asking them to submit fresh bids, Naik said. PCKL has secured 1,601 acres of land in Gulbarga taluk, Kirangi and Nadisinnur village for the project. The firm also secured allocation for 2.06 TMC of water from Googal Barrage across Krishna River. The project will be built over four years from the date of signing the contract and all the power produced will be delivered to the state grid.
