Dubai Approves Bluewaters Island Bridge

News: The ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, cleared plans to build a 1,400m long bridge to connect the USD$1.6bn Bluewaters Island project with the UAE's mainland. The bridge will have two lanes in each direction. The USD136mn construction deal for the bridge is expected to be awarded in Q214. The Bluewaters Island project will be built off the coast of Jumeirah Beach Residence. Plans have also been approved for an entrance project for International City, which will include building a flyover at the intersection of Al-Awir Road and Nouakchott Road and other traffic improvements.
