Digicel Turks & Caicos Gets Ready For HSPA+ Launch

News: Digicel Turks & Caicos has revealed a project regarding deployment of 'multimillion dollar 4G core network' in order to support its upcoming launch of W-CDMA/HSPA+ 3.5G mobile services and future LTE evolutions. The IP-based network, which is supplied by Ericsson, is designed to offer mobile broadband speeds across the island nation for handset and modem users. The upgrade work comprise of installation of a new mobile switching centre as well as new cell sites. The firm did not issue any actual launch date, however has asked customers to purchase compatible handsets on its network for Christmas.
