DFine gains access to Spanish/Portugese markets with help from Biomet

DFine has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with Biomet for the former's StabiliT vertebral augmentation system in Spain and Portugal. The term of the distribution agreement will be for three years. The StabiliT system harnesses the power of Radiofrequency Targeted Vertebral Augmentation (RF-TVA) to relieve pain and repair vertebral compression fractures resulting from instability due to osteoporosis or cancer.

The agreement with Biomet will allow Dfine to harness Biomet's presence as a multi-billion-dollar international company, to build a solid commercial position within Spain and Portugal, as part of DFine's worldwide expansion strategy. Sales orthopaedic and prosthetic products in Spain and Portugal accounted for US$718.7 million in 2012, according to Espicom estimates. Espicom values these markets to have a combined worth of US$926.6 million by 2018.
