Delayed Oil Bill To Push Licensing Back

News: Kenya will delay licensing new blocks as a new law regulating the oil and gas sector has been postponed until June 2014, according to Kenya's Energy and Petroleum Principal Secretary Joseph Njoroge. Seven new blocks will be up for licensing once the oil bill is in place, Njoroge added. Tullow Oil and its partner Africa Oil discovered oil in the north west of the country, which has increased inquiries from other companies seeking exploration blocks. Earlier in January, Tullow Oil doubled the estimates of discoveries in the south Lokichar basin, Kenya, to 600mn barrels.
