Cuadrilla Could Start Shale Production Within Four Years If Required

News: Commercial production of shale gas in the UK can start within four years if the ongoing crisis in Ukraine leads to a national state of emergency in the country, reports Reuters, citing UK-based energy company Cuadrilla Resources' CEO Francis Egan. Cuadrilla Resources is in the early phase of shale gas exploration to reduce its dependence on imports for meeting energy demands. The company can start building a drilling site immediately and begin drilling operations after two months in case of an emergency. The company will need around four months to drill a well, with three to four wells required to reveal the commercial value of shale gas in the country.
