Country Reports 669 Influenza Deaths

News: Mexico's Department of Health (SSA) has reported that there have been around 6,242 confirmed cases of influenza and 669 deaths from influenza in Mexico to date in 2014, reports Mexican news agency Notimex. According to the agency, of the 669 influenza deaths, 607 were caused by influenza A virus subtype H1N1, 17 by influenza A virus subtype H3N2, one by influenza B and the remaining 44 by other types of influenza viruses. The country's health department noted that prevention and early intervention are important in fighting diseases such as influenza, and that patients should immediately visit physicians if they have fever and respiratory symptoms.
