Costruzioni Generali Starts Dredging Work At Koper Port

News: Italy-based dredging company Costruzioni Generali Xodo has started dredging work at the Slovenian port of Koper with its San Luca Primo vessel. Under the first phase of the harbour water deepening project, the maximum permissible draft of vessels will be expanded to 13 meters (m) by February 21. Meanwhile, the construction and filling of the silt disposal sites are also in progress. The move is in line with the plans of Luka Koper for the extension of Pier I which was approved by the Supervisory Board in spring 2013. In addition to this, the project entails the construction of an additional 100m of operational quayside with all necessary infrastructure, machinery and equipment. The EUR78mn (US$107mn) project will be implemented in number of stages and is scheduled to be completed in 2018.
