ContextVision/Karolinska Institute explore new imaging options for diagnosing AD
ContextVision is working with the Division of Clinical Geriatrics at the Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society (NVS) at the Karolinska Institutet to develop new tools within the field of medical imaging. The collaboration will specifically focus on the development of diagnostic decision support functions linked to MRI in order to help radiologists improve diagnosis for Alzheimer´s Disease (AD) and other forms of dementia.
The first project focuses on developing an accurate method for diagnosis and follow-up of AD. The project is partly funded by the Swedish Government and will be the first step to evaluate the potential for developing a decision support tool based on previous academic research performed by the team at Karolinska Institute. Whilst the emphasis is on research, the hope is to develop products that can be commercially available to help clinicians make their diagnostic decisions.
ContextVision is a provider of image enhancement software focused on ultrasound, X-ray, MRI, mammography, fluoroscopy and CT.
