Circulatory System Diseases Are Most Common Cause Of Death, Says Chief Physician

News: Diseases of the circulatory system are the most common cause of death and disability in Kazakhstan, reports BNews.kz, citing Bolatbek Baimakhanov, the chief physician of the country's City Hospital ? 7 in Almaty. Around 57% of deaths in the country are caused by cardiovascular diseases, and 40% by strokes, including ischemic and haemorrhagic strokes, Baimakhanov added. He went on to add that around 9% of patients who have suffered an ischemic stroke once suffer a recurrent stroke within a year of the first.
