Central Bank Denies Plans To Conduct Stress Tests
News: The central bank of Spain has denied plans to conduct preliminary studies on 16 banks to better prepare them for Europe-wide health checks later in 2014. Earlier newspaper Cinco Dias had reported that the Bank of Spain would conduct stress tests in April to prepare Spanish lenders for rigorous health checks of the industry in Europe. 'There is no pre-test,' a spokesperson for the central bank confirmed (Reuters). From November 2014, the European Central Bank will take over as the eurozone's bank supervisor.
