Cape Chamber Expresses Surprise At Cargo Dues Hike

News: An increase of 5.9% in cargo dues has come as a surprise to the Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry in South Africa. On March 31, a day's notice was issued to the shipping industry and cargo owners regarding the changes in the cargo dues, according to President of the Chamber Janine Myburgh. The new cargo dues were scheduled to be implemented on April 1. Tariffs for the dry bulk cargo and marine services have also been increased by 8.15% each (Hellenic Shipping News).
