Canon buys out its Benelux distributor

Canon Europe has acquired Netherlands-based Medical imaging specialist Delft Diagnostic Imaging. The purchase excludes Delft Imaging Systems, currently a subsidiary of DDI, will become a separate company. Financial terms have not been disclosed.

DDI comprises Rogan-Delft and Oldelft Benelux, and includes a medical software business for sharing digital images and medical records. Going forward, this unit will become a future platform for the development of new Healthcare ICT products, including Cross Enterprise Document Sharing for Imaging (XDSI) software. DDI is also a developer of digital X-ray imaging systems, systems integration and servicing for radiology departments. Delft DI has been a distributor of Canon digital radiography systems for over ten years in The Netherlands and Belgium. Building on this partnership, where DDI already incorporates Canon digital radiography products in their services, this business will become a platform for developing future digital radiography services.
