Calbee And Universal Robina Enter Snack Foods JV

News: Japanese snack food company Calbee has formed a joint venture (JV) with Philippines-based food major Universal Robina to expand its presence in the Philippines' growing packaged food market. The equal-sharing JV, known as Calbee-URC, will manufacture and sell snack foods in the Philippines by April 2014. The new JV will contribute to the company's medium- to long-term business performance and aims to achieve JPY4bn (US$39.26mn) of annual net sales within six years of its commencement.
