BTL Enhances Operations With Feeder Service


News: India-based shipping company Bengal Tiger Line (BTL) has successfully commenced a feeder service between the Marg Karaikal Port in India and the Port of Colombo in Sri Lanka with the maiden call of a vessel, Tiger Bridge. The vessel carried a total of 50 containers during its maiden voyage. The feeder vessel is likely to call every alternate Friday and is expected to become a weekly service in the future, a port official said. Meanwhile, before this development, MT Maple called at the newly built tankages on February 8 along with the first shipment of crude palm olein. The new oil tankage has 19,000 cubic metres of capacity. Apart from the commencement of wheat exports for the Food Corporation of India (FCI), the port is also getting prepared for exporting maize. To date, more than 125,000 metric tonnes of wheat has been exported by FCI from the Karaikal Port.
