BTC Reports Rise In FY12/13 Revenues


News: State-owned incumbent operator Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) registered a rise in revenues to BWP1.38bn (US$154.88mn) in FY12/13, compared with BWP1.19bn (US$133.56mn) in FY11/12. The rise in total revenue has largely been attributed to mobile network revenues which saw a 58% increase to BWP325mn (US$36.48mn) in FY12/13, compared with BWP206mn (US$23.12mn) in FY11/12. BTC posted a 12% growth in data and private circuit's revenue to BWP510mn (US$57.24mn) in FY12/13, from BWP455mn (US$51.07mn) in FY11/12. The operator reported a 2% and 7% fall in fixed line voice revenues for national and international markets, respectively.
