BT Seeks To Boost Competition With 4G Network Launch

News: Incumbent telecoms operator BT seeks to boost competition in the UK mobile market with the launch of its own 4G mobile network later in 2014. BT reportedly plans to re-launch its mobile network for businesses by August, while products aimed at consumers are likely to be introduced by April 2015. BT will expand its 5.4mn Wi-Fi hotspots already active around the UK, with the company planning to upgrade customers' Home Hub equipment to broadcast 4G and Wi-Fi signals.
