BMW To Start Production Of Mini Hatch At Born Facility

News: German premium carmaker BMW intends to split the production of its new Mini Hatch between Oxford, UK, and a factory in Born in the Netherlands, operated by contract manufacturer VDL Nedcar, reports Just Auto. BMW plans to start production of the Mini Hatch in the Netherlands from the summer of 2014, expanding the model's production capacity beyond its plant in Oxford. The carmaker stated that the VDL Nedcar site will prove to be a favourable location in terms of logistics and its proximity to the UK Mini production network. The move comes with the aim of achieving BMW's overall sales target of more than 2mn units by 2016.
