Biocon And MEM To Build Biotech Facility Worth MYR500mn

News: Indian biotechnology firm Biocon has partnered with Manipal Education Malaysia to develop human capital for the biotechnology industry in Malaysia. Biocon is constructing a manufacturing and research and development facility in Iskandar Malaysia, Johor. The facility will be worth more than MYR500mn (US$163.2mn) and is scheduled to become operational by the end of 2014. It be constructed in two phases, Biocon chairman and managing director Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw said. The first phase will begin production by early 2015, while development for the second phase will start in 2015, with completion expected in 2020.
