Batan Tekno To Construct Fourth Nuclear Reactor
News: Indonesian state-run radioisotope firm Batan Tekno said on March 3 that it will construct the country's fourth nuclear reactor in the West Java district of Subang region. The firm intends to inject IDR1.2trn (US$103.3mn) on the project, which will be supported by the Russian Development Bank, reports the Jakarta Globe. The design has been prepared and the firm is awaiting Bapeten's approval to proceed further, said Batan Tekno President Director Yudiutomo Ismardjoko. Batan Takno is likely to join hands with Egyptian and Belgium companies to develop the reactor, which is expected to be completed by end-2016, added Ismardjoko. This development will generate radioisotopes for the country's hospitals and supply products to Malaysia, the Philippines, Bangladesh and Vietnam.
