Baker Hughes Resumes Rumaila Field Operations

News: UK-based energy company Baker Hughes is planning to restart operations in the Rumaila field in Iraq after protests in the city of Basra in November led it to suspend operations at the field. The company has resumed work at the field and hopes it will become fully operational in the next few weeks, said Derek Mathieson, vice president of strategy and corporate development. The company is working with local authorities to ensure the safety of its workers and has been assured that additional security forces will be deployed, Mathieson added.
