Bad Loans Issue Needs To Be Addressed, Says Central Bank Governor

News: Kazakhstan's central bank governor Kairat Kelimbetov has said that non-performing loans at Kazakh banks were one of three key challenges that the central bank needs to address. The other two challenges were the implementation of Basel II regulations and the rise of consumer loans. The central bank intends to request the government to take steps to resolve the bad loans issue, including introduction of tax breaks to encourage, write-downs of bad loans and the amendment of bankruptcy laws, reports Bloomberg.
