News: Canada-based Avrupa Minerals has announced drilling results from its Alvalade joint venture (JV) project in the Iberian Pyrite Belt of Portugal. The project is operated by Avrupa, while a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chilean-based copper mining group Antofagasta is providing the funding. The companies reportedly drilled eight holes in the Sesmarias area for a total of 1,961 metres (m) in the general target area. Four out of the seven holes which were drilled in the surrounding area of the Sesmarias massive sulfide intersection, intersected massive sulfide mineralisation at variable depths below the surface. The company further plans to conduct drilling exploration of 2,700m to 3,000m, which is expected to commence in early June 2014 and is scheduled to be completed in August 2014.
