Authority Launches Tender For Northern Aqueduct Pipeline

News: A tender has been launched for the first contract of the Northern Aqueduct bulk water pipeline project in Durban, South Africa, according to Project Manager Martin Bright. The project is scheduled to be awarded in Q413, Bright added. The project is aimed at fulfilling water needs of development projects, including the Cornubia housing development. The first contract would stretch from Phoenix Reservoir 2 to the Waterloo reservoir near Verulam, including a link to the Umhlanga reservoir. The construction is scheduled to start in 2014. Meanwhile, the second contract for the pipeline project is under an environmental-impact assessment phase and would run from Duffs road to the Phoenix Reservoir 2.
