News: The Chinese authorities have completed a deepsea port on Madae Island in the Burmese state of Rakhine, reports Eleven Myanmar, citing port authority officials. The port, which was built by a joint venture between China National Petroleum Corporation and the Ministry of Energy, will dock 300,000-tonne oil tankers as part of the Myanmar-China crude oil pipeline. The port is also reserved for 26m-deep oil tankers. The Myanmar-China crude oil pipeline, which is under construction, will carry 22mn tonnes of crude annually. The pipeline's construction is scheduled for completion in September.
