APT Satellite Registers 54% Rise In 2013 Profit

News: Hong Kong's satellite operator APT Satellite Holdings registered a 54% year-on-year (y-o-y) rise in profit to HKD545.47mn (US$70.31mn) in 2013, compared with HKD354.44mn (US$45.69mn) in 2012. Revenues grew 26% y-o-y to HKD1.14bn (US$146.94mn) in 2013. The operator has contracted China Great Wall Industry Corporation to produce a new DFH-4 series platform-based satellite with 14 Ku-band transponders and 32 C-band transponders. APT will launch the Apstar 9 satellite in Q415.
