Anglo Resumes Operations At Los Bronces Mine

News: UK-based mining company Anglo American resumed operations at its Los Bronces copper mine located in central Chile after a protest was launched by workers on March 24 2014. Production at the site was kept on hold due to the brief but violent protest by contract workers, who claimed that the firm refused to negotiate over a series of demands. The protest receded the same day, enabling Anglo to restart the operations. Representatives of the contract workers and Anglo American are currently holding talks over the matter, reports Reuters, citing a spokesperson for the CTC mining union.
