ANCOM Opens Public Consultation On Frequency Bands For 4G

News: Romanian telecoms regulator ANCOM has invited comments and suggestions from the public on a draft decision to permit the use of the 900MHz and 1,800MHz frequency bands to launch 4G LTE and WiMAX technology. The public consultation is scheduled to end on November 5. Orange Romania, Vodafone Romania and Cosmote Romania are the three operators with the rights to use these bands in the country. The three operators will be allowed to use re-farmed spectrum with immediate effect to launch 4G services, provided the regulator ultimately approves the decision.
