Agro EcoEnergy Invests In Ethanol Plant

News: Swedish based EcoEnergy Africa's subsidiary Agro EcoEnergy Tanzania plans to invest about USD550mn (EUR399.5mn) developing a sugar cane plantation and an ethanol plant in Tanzania. A special purpose vehicle called Bagamoyo EcoEnergy has been established by the company to develop the project. The ethanol plant is expected to produce 10mn litres of ethanol over three years and 130,000 tonnes of sugar annually. The plant is also estimated to produce enough electricity to meet the annual power needs of about 100,000 rural homes.
