Recovery Ahead For European Carmakers?

The European passenger car market has seen sustained declines in recent years, and this has taken its toll on companies across the supply chain. BMI maintains a bearish regional outlook for 2013, and we expect to see ongoing declines in many markets over the year. Many manufacturers are shifting their strategic focus towards higher-growth emerging markets as they seek to limit their exposure to the region. There are, however, some green shoots emerging and signs that the worst may be over. BMI believes the regional market will bottom out in 2013 before posting positive growth in 2014.
