Central banks across key emerging markets are hiking interest rates in an attempt to shore up investor confidence in the face of tightening US monetary policy. Two of the latest emerging market countries to raise interest rates were Turkey and South Africa, with central bankers in both countries forced to act in an attempt to shore up flagging currencies.
