Vodafone Targets AAPT

News: UK telecoms company Vodafone said it is unlikely to acquire its Australian partner in the near future, reports Cellular-News. The company said it is rather considering plans to purchase Australian landline operator AAPT after the latter's parent company, Telecom New Zealand, initiated its sales process for a selected group of potential bidders. Telecom is also expected to sell its indirect 5% stake in Vodafone Australia, which it holds through a 10% stake in Hutchison Telecommunications Australia.
