SRO To Develop Riyadh Dry Port

News: The Saudi Railway Organisation (SRO) will develop the dry port in Riyadh, after the facility handled a record 26,840 twenty-foot equivalent units in May. The port will be revamped to increase its capacity along with its efficiency in handling large numbers of containers. It will be privatised and the returns will be shared between the operating contractor and the SRO. The present contract entails developing the port's infrastructure and replacing dirt ground with concrete. The contract also includes constructing new administrative offices, importing state-of-the-art equipment and attracting expertise to facilitate handling.
