News: Indonesia is considering cutting Australian beef imports following reports of Australian spying, according to Indonesian Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan. This came following reports that Australian spies tapped the phones of Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's and his close alliances in 2009. Wirjawan has asked the Indonesian parliament to start looking at whether legislation can be adjusted to allow Indonesia to import beef from other countries, including India amd Brazil, instead of Australia. State-owned Indonesian firm RNI stopped talks with the Australian cattle industry in the week ended November 23 due to the spying revelations.
