SDTC Grants CAD2mn Loan To Ballard

News: Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) has granted a CAD2mn (US$1.95mn) loan to Ballard Power Systems for a one-year extension to the company's project, which intends to further commercialise its fuel cell power module. Ballard will aim to standardise certain product components and optimise the power module's balance-of-plant and control systems in a bid to further cut costs and improve the manufacturing process of the FCvelocity-HD6. The project extension will run through October 2013 and the fuel cell power module will be used in the transit bus market.
