Kazakh Generic Drug Market To Increase 17% In 2013-2015, Says Study
News: The generic drug market in Kazakhstan is estimated to grow by more than 17% between 2013 and 2015, according to a report by Poland-based market research and consulting company PMR. The report also predicts a rise in the market share of Russian drugmaker Pharmstandard-Leksredstva OJSC during the two-year period. Kazakhstan's generic drug market is expected to grow in the coming few years, primarily due to the government's strategy of increasing the share of domestic pharma companies in Kazakhstan to 50%. The total market value of generic drugs in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan reached EUR5.7bn (US$7.74bn) in 2012, the report added. The generic drug market in the three countries is expected to grow at an average annual growth rate of around 16% in the 2013-2015 period.
