FCC To Implement Interoperable LTE Service

News: The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US has approved proposals to implement a voluntary industry agreement to establish an interoperable LTE service in the lower 700MHz band. The standards would provide more choice to consumers while using their devices with large and small carriers alike, and will promote the deployment of mobile broadband services in rural areas. The order requires the modification of technical rules of the D and E blocks to enable high-value uses of these blocks, along with the modification in AT&T's B and C block licences and alteration in construction requirements and deadlines for various E Block licensees in the lower 700MHz band.
