Consortium Secures Metro Deal

News: The Nuevo Metro de Lima consortium, comprising Dragados, Iridium, Vialia, Impregilo, Ansaldo and Cosapi, secured a EUR3.9bn (US$5.37bn) contract to build 35 underground stations along 35km of tunnels for the Lima metro in Peru. The contract involves the construction and operation of Line 2, as well as a section from Line 4, which will connect the city to the airport. Construction is expected to take five years to complete, following which the consortium will operate the lines for 30 years. Line 2, measuring about 27km, will run east-west through Lima, from Ate to Callao and will comprise 27 stations. The section from Line 4 will run along 8km of the tunnel, from Avenida Faucett to Avenida Néstor Gambetta, and will comprise eight stations.
